The M49 Moisture Monitor is a hand held unit that measures the dielectric constant of the material & since the dielectric constant of water is many times higher than many materials which normally contain it, the measurement is a certain indication that true moisture is present. The M49 produces a high frequency electric field, which penetrates the material being investigated & measures the average amount of water within its field. Previous instruments using this technique were too large and bulky to be carried about easily.

The MW105 Moisture Monitor is the most advanced portable moisture measuring instrument in the world. It is the only pocket size digital microwave moisture meter in the world, which corrects the readings for density of the material under investigation. It does this by utilising microwave absorption techniques to determine the dual dielectric constant. This is the most accurate system known, as the measurement enables the density to be calculated & allowed for in the readings.
